To ALL Friends Of Fred:
I know we all miss Fred's presence. We all wish that this would have been the year that we started taking our country back. It still can be.
Despite Fred's "absence" I am Still with Fred! It appears that you are too! We have much work to do, and there is no time like the present. I am hereby proposing that we form The Thompson Coalition. We have some serious talent and intellect here, and what better way to carry forth Fred's message to AMERICANS and to honor him, than to continue WORKING for him!!! And, in his name!!! We already have a good start on this, and with a few small changes we can become truly effective. Conservatives United!
If we ask him nicely, maybe Krell would consider naming his site after this
movement, and working with us. The Thompson Coalition! It is a good place to start, as Krell is always on top of things, and VERY informative!! Many people would fight, but lack the understanding of HOW! It is my opinion Fred WILL be back. I have no idea how or when, but Patriots as he never "give up" !!! We should be already in motion. He will hear us.
Let's make some noise in his name! We can spread the word through the internet and CONSERVATIVE talk radio, WE CAN DO IT! Let's kick these libs and their shamnesty plans clear back to their little Un-American drawing boards. These people have no PRINCIPLES. They are LOST souls.
It is not our job to save them, it is our job to save us from them.
Let's begin to use our talents and resources in a manner as of yet still
beginning! Let's GROW as informed Patriots and share our passion for
AMERICA The BEAUTIFUL with others who are "lost" and unaware of how to help us fight for our rights! What I am suggesting here is truly a coalition
of like minded American Patriots who have been inspired by this great man
to pick up their ARMS and FIGHT! We all know Freedom ain't Free! It is my belief that Fred himself will soon rejoin us in this battle of truly epic proportions. The Battle for our very lives as we know them. The Battle our Forefathers fought, and hoped we would not have to! What say YOU, FredHeads??? Are you ready for some action??? We CAN and WILL
make a difference for ALL of us!!! Be a part of this, and you will find the strength of MANY behind you as you go. Bring some truth to those who won't otherwise hear it, and defeat the push for Socialism in YOUR Nation!
These Socialist traitors are counting on us growing weary of the Amnesty Battle. They push and push over and over for their SICK plans to come into fruition, I say HELL NO! I will not surrender MY LAND to invaders!!!

Well said Rinohunter, I too believe we can no longer stand silently while the foundations and principles that our forefathers set forth for OUR country are trampled on. We cannot let the blood shed for this country be in vein. Our PRINCIPLES and FREEDOM are at stake here. We are on a slippery slope. If we stand behind McCain just because on paper he is a Republican we will just hasten that descend, it is time we stand up and let the Republican party know that we are not going there!!!!

anyone interested! I am also going to sit down and create some simple script for us to follow, as per our most excellent host's suggestion!

I'm all in Rinohunter and Melissa. I will begin working on the site this weekend. Send me an email with any graphics ideas and/or color schemes. I am thinking one thing is that we can have a page to list Patriotic Conservative Congressmen and Senators. I will create the web site and maintain it, but it won't be pinncalecascade anymore. So, as I change it, I'll have to add a redirect at Pinnacle so folks know where to go.

I think having an email address for this new web site is good. And staying linked here to Brad's proboards is a good idea also. We can get a lot of discussion going. It is almost like conservatives have split off in different groups and they all need to come back together for a unifying effort - the new site can do that. What do you think?

Also, read the two Rush Limbaugh articles I posted this morning at Pinnacle. We gotta get through to Rush that directly voting for a Democrat does not send the clear concise message we want to send to the Republican Party. That sends a very skewed and unclear message.

I do have a photo shoot at the Columbia Gorge most of the day tomorrow. But I can get started tomorrow evening.

rinohunter: I love your above post. My voice is with you and all who say HELL NO! You are very inspiring- have you ever thought about running for POTUS? I will vote for you if you do. I firmly believe that a large number of people would get on board. Most especially those that won't vote for McCain. I also really like the idea of highlighting those elected officials who are conservatives and vote as a conservatives.
BTW, I grew up in Hazleton PA where Lou Barletta is the mayor and is running for a seat in Congress. I and my whole family knew all the Barlettas and there are lots of them. They are good community involved people. I sent him an email wishing him much success in his bid. I might be able to get in touch with him if we want to.

I am in too! Finally got around to writing my letter to GOP chairman. Here it is.
Mr. Duncan,
Since you are chairman, I am writing you so that you and those under you can come up with a solution to not only this years frustrating primary process, but those in the future also.
As you have to agree, this year everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Many of our candidates got into the "race" unusually early while others were later. The media made a big deal of the later entries, even though those were well within range of previous years' races. Then the mass media constantly told voters who to vote for, who did not have a chance of winning and who would be a wasted vote. They reported things completely untrue about candidates and, usually, never recanted the stories but were not ever held accountable. The general public followed them still thinking media is honest.
In many primaries Democrats and Independents were allowed to vote in the Republican primaries distorting and even changing the results of the primary or caucus. The exit polls showed this to be true. This should not be allowed. In the states where the Democrats chose to penalize the voters for moving up their primaries, their voters chose to vote in our primary by droves, not only so their vote would count, but also to keep our good conservative candidate from winning. Again, this ought not be allowed.
The results is the biggest division and contention in our party that has ever existed. We have many, including me, fighting vehemently against the frontrunner, John McCain. I am begging people in the remaining states to vote no to McCain by voting yes to Mike Huckabee. I, in no way, want Mike Huckabee to be president even though he is probably slightly better then McCain. What I am hoping and praying for is a brokered convention because neither reach the magic 1191. If we do, then true Conservatives like Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney (if he means what he says now) will have a chance to win and unite the party.
Apparently, I am not alone in this feeling, seeing the great wins that Mike Huckabee had the weekend after Romney dropped out! The primaries since then were open and allowed the liberals to vote once again.
We need a candidate who can unify the party. If McCain succeeds reaching the 1191 then we need a vice president who can help unify the party. And a vice president choice who can compete for the African-American and women vote. We certainly do not need Clinton or Obama in the White House. However, with my and other Conservatives dissatisfaction with this years mess, they may well win if many of our party just stay home or as some suggest vote for the Democrats to teach a lesson.
What you can do about this year is beyond me. But you can can do about future years is clear:
1. It should be a rule that only declared Republicans can vote in the primaries
and cauci.
2. The primary process should be shortened. Some say with a national primary
so that voters decide on their own decision, instincts and study. While this
may not give candidates enough time to meet the people, I do not feel
regional would work. Perhaps, four primary primary dates with a variety of
"red, blue and purple" states and states with different values and concerns
included in each of the four.
3. GOP should take an active part in holding the press and candidates
accountable. You should call them on the carpet when the make errors and
refuse to straighten them out. You should also take an active part in the
debates. If you watched our debates, you saw the liberal media ask
questions that did not matter to the Republicans. You saw them ignore the
illegal immigration problem which mattered to 90% of us. They stayed away
from the values which mattered to 1/3 to 1/2 of our candidates. Our debates
should ask questions that Republicans want to judge their candidates on.
Our debates should be more dignifed, not using sound bites and whimsical
questions, but giving candidates time to give more in depth answers to show
their differences. We do not need Democrat questions in our debate.
4. Set a date range that candidates have to declare that they are running. Limit
it to a reasonable time as it was in years well past.

Please do what you can to help us get a candidate we can unify behind. I personally believe that Fred Thompson is the candidate that almost everyone liked but was not voted for because of the press. From day one they said he had no chance, was lazy and had no fire in his belly. They found no real issues to put him down on. They found no skeletons in his closet to expose. He was everyone's second choice if their candidate could not win. He is a true Reagan conservative. And yes, I agree, Fred Thompson's fire was not in his belly. His fire to be president is in a much better place. It is in his heart. He did it for love of his country, family and party. He truly has the honorable intentions of wanting to be president to make this nation a better place for us and future generations. There was no self serving and fire in his belly b ecause of a lifelong personal ambition to be president.
Our party, because of this year's terrible primary process, is likely to lose the election. In the future, please do not let this happen again.

I believe I have posted this before, but just in case you missed it - I don't know if you're aware of the fact that the Government considers every letter they receive as representing 10,000!!!!!!! We can do this! There are so many true conservatives that are disillusioned, disheartened and mad as Hell. For too long we have been the silent majority!!! sbenn: Your letter to Duncan is more than excellent. You mirrored my thoughts exactly. I don't know what will happen this year. If McCain gains the 1,191 delegates, can he still be denied the nomination at the convention? I fear the RNC will just ignore the will of the conservatives and will still put him out there knowing he will lose.

So it looks like we have a renewed sense of direction, and that is fantastic. We need to take advantage of every opportunity we can!

I see that Sean, from the old site, and currently of "The American Mind.com" wrote today that McCain has started his own blog. "From the creator of Blogs for Fred, comes Blogs for John McCain."

I think this gives us ANOTHER avenue. Imagine going to McCains own site and talking about FRED and his principles! It gives us the opportunity to send messages directly to McCain and his supporters!
I've already done it. The site is brand new with only a few people listed.

Maybe McCain doesn't have any friends...? HA!!
