www.petitiononline.com/JDAlvey1/petition.htmlThis is what it's all about: "Be it known, therefore, that although Sen. John McCain may enjoy default immunity from criminal prosecution because of Senate inaction, he must still answer to the People. This petition is not a mere expression of public opinion, but an invitation to action in civil court. The signors are, thus, strongly encouraged to email their contact information to ja.repository@gmail.com for the purpose of class action lawsuit. Qualified attorneys interested in representing the petitioners should contact petitiononline.com and jalvey.counsel@gmail.com. "

creationist- You are a freakin' genius ;D I wonder how many signatures would be required to make this petition work? Who started this petition, do you know? I signed it happily as this might just be the best chance we have yet to stop the McClame. It just shows us just how arrogant he is. Sometimes in life, when you do the wrong thing (McCain Feingold) it comes back to bite you in the proverbial ass ;D

I thought it was very interesting that as I was viewing the signatures a McCain ad came up on the middle of the screen

I just typed, rather unhopefully, into Google: "petition to stop mccain". And, what do you know, somebody had started that petition! ;D Until today, I had occasionally typed "stop mccain" or "replace mccain" or something of the like. But since I've since learned that online petitions are the way to do things, I today added the word "petition", and there it was! ;D
This is at the bottom of the petition:
created by and written by Joseph Alvey (Joseph.Alvey@gmail.com ______________ And some more of his email information is at the top entry of this thread.
Well fancy that! People might not like the idea of unequivocally transferring their loyalty in a "let's get back Fred" petition, but they can't argue the validity with this one!!!

The reason I think this petition can work is because the writer encourages attorneys to speak on behalf of all the petitioners. I've seen some other anti-McCain petitions at "therealmccain.com", but they won't get you anywhere if you don't have expert lawyers! And this one is not just saying McCain should support the new GI Bill or stop lobbying for federal grants for his campaigning. It's charging him as a violater of the law!

creationist- We all know how some attorneys will go after anything they can for the fees, let's hope some good ones step up to the plate with this. No ACLU attorneys need apply ;D

creationist- I don't know if I believe the second petition has 32,000 signatures. The first petition in this thread has abot 2,600. Did you notice one of the signatures on the second petition- MoveOn.Org.Political Action! That's George Soros, I guess he has put $40 million in a beat McCain fund ;D
Have you read in the news that the Democrats in the Senate are requesting an investigation into McCains overspending after requesting public funding? The only problem is this- there are 4 vacant seats out of 6 on the FEC Board. 2 people can't accomplish anything. I read at one source that the Democrats are blocking Bush's appointments. I read at another source that Mitch McConnell is blocking 3 of the appointees. Don't know what the truth is. The 4 open seats became open at the end of 2007. In Iowa McCain came in 4th. I believe NH primary was Jan. 4th in which we know McCain won and started his momentum then. Last year after Amnesty for All McCain went down the tubes but, refused to give up and applied for public financing. After his win in NH he apparently tried to get out of the public financing as we all know. I guess the 2 members left at the FEC said no way. Now he has overspent. I have to wonder if Mitch McConnell is in fact blocking the nominations in order to help his friend (or party) with having an ineffective and broken FEC. I'll look for those articles again.

2683 petitioners now! (#2684 was a repeat of 2683.) I love it when people come up with ingenious ideas--see, I hadn't thought of having this in a civil court! A huge quantity of Americans would be so relieved and hopeful if McCain came tumbling down. There should be no place for his kind of corruption in politics--least of all in the formerly noble GOP!
Would I feel badly if McCain got justice done to him? NO! We need justice restored to this nation! I don't see him demonstrating any of the three basic godly qualities in Micah 6:8 of mercy, humility, and justice! And people would not feel guilty about backing their favorite conservative candidate (Fred Thompson) if McCain were out of the way. They wouldn't consider it a rebellion against the party or a selfish, petty decision!

So Soros is involved with MoveOn.org? Maybe he's involved with every major liberal group! That's interesting that the minority leader, McConnell, is deliberately trying to hamper investigations into McCain's financial practices, so that McCain can stay as the nominee. Hmm .

Please be aware, before you sign this petition that it is sponsered by BlueAmerica; a vicious liberal propoganda machine. These are Democrats challanging McCain-not Republicans. We share a common goal with them of wanting to oust McCain; but for totally seperate reasons. These people want to discredit ALL Republicans. Just be aware of who you are rubbing elbows with here.

loriel- Thanks for that great info. I thought it odd that they could be saying they have 32,000 signatures, but no way of seeing all those names as in the civil petition. I didn't sign it as it was to suspecious to me.

I didn't sign because it seemed pointless to me when a contentious Congress can't agree on whom to appoint to the FEC! Still, I'm glad I posted the info here, because that gave "loriel" a chance to tell about BlueAmerica.

2706 signatures now. Actually, it's 2704 or less because in two cases since I signed, people have signed twice. ;D
