Maybe I should start looking at the Constitution Party again? Whichever candidate the Constitution Party picks is definitely going to be grassroots-picked, not financed by Rockefellers and Soros.

A while back I wrote a letter to my congressmen and finally got this reply back for Lincoln Davis, a Democrat. Of course, I immediately got that automatic thank you for writing e-mail but this one was addressed to me.
Dear (sbenn)
Thank you for contacting me to share your support for Representative Shuler's "SAVE Act", or H.R. 4088. I am a proud cosponsor of this bill and am pleased to learn that you strongly support it as well.
As you may know from your previous research, I am an original cosponsor of this bill. In fact, I consulted with Rep. Shuler during his drafting of the SAVE Act. As I have said since first being elected to serve in 2003, it is high time that Congress and the Administration do something about illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is a serious problem that goes above political parties and politics. In fact, there is zero room for party politics in this issue. The Congress and the President have a responsibility to find a solution and resolve it quickly. I believe the SAVE Act begins to address these issues through its following provisions: * Increase U.S. Border Patrol by 8,000 agents; * Require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop a national strategy to secure the borders that would be submitted to Congress; * Mandate all U.S. employers to utilize the E-Verify program (formerly known as "Basic Pilot") that checks government databases to confirm the legal status of workers. This mandate would be phased in over four years as follows - o Within the first year of enactment, all federal agencies, federal contractors and subcontractors, and businesses that employ more than 250 employees would be required to use E-Verify for new hires. o Businesses with more than 100 employees would be mandated to use E-Verify within two years; businesses with more than 30 employees would be mandated use E-Verify within three years. o All American employers would be required to use E- Verify for not only new hires, but all current employees within four years of enactment. * Increase U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by 1,150 agents; * Increase U.S. Criminal Alien Program (CAP) by 140 officers to identify and remove criminal aliens arrested by federal, state and local law enforcement officers; and * Provide for 13 additional federal district judges in the Southwest United States where judges are currently overwhelmed with immigration casework.
I have also heard from constituents on the discharge petition now accompanying Rep. Shuler's bill. Going back to my comments that illegal immigration is too serious a problem for politics, that is exactly what the discharge petition is. The same Republicans who endorsed President Bush's amnesty plan and who failed for years to secure our borders when they controlled the Congress are now again playing politics with immigration. For my part, I have contacted the Speaker of the House directly and have asked for a vote on the SAVE Act, which I will strongly and proudly support.
I have one of the strongest records on this issue in the Congress, among both Republicans and Democrats, and I am committed to this issue until we reach a responsible solution.
Sincerely,
Lincoln Davis Member of Congress
Heath Shuler and Lincoln Davis are Democrats. My question is if they can get it right then why can't McCain?

It seems that Fred should mention his differences with McLame about illegal immigration. Arizona also adopted a Fred type law against buisness knowing hiring illegal immigrants. And unemployment numbers are falling. Amazing isn't it! hr.blr.com/news.aspx?id=77924

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County Arizona has been in the news quite a bit. His actions have even hit the TV news broadcasts. I wonder what he is doing right that Mayor Lou Barletta did wrong in Hazleton PA. It seems that Arpaio has the right attorneys working on his side, unfortunately the ACLU and a Clinton appointed judge in PA sent Barlettas attempts packing. As the article points out, the illegals are running to states that have sanctuary cities such as San Francisco. I think that is a great and wonderful thing. Let them run to those cities and cause the congestion and out of sight costs to have them there. Then cut all Federal Funding to those cities as Fred had suggested. Hopefully Arizona will be a beacon of hope for all those cities and counties wanting to take action. Isn't it interesting that McCain's home state is the one fighting the hardest against what he wildly supports

Again, as I said in my last reply-What was wrong with Mayor Lou Barletta's case? From what I understand the judge decided for the ACLU because he said that there already was Federal Law on the books that superceded the Hazleton case. I guess maybe Barletta may not have had the right lawyers to argue as those in Arizona. It may also be that PA may not have state laws on the books as does Arizona. What is the sense of requiring every employer in the US to have every employee complete an I-9 form. There are warnings of all kinds of penalties if you are audited and do not have this form for every employee, even those that have left your employ. And, each employee must show 2 forms of identification from acceptable lists of ID's which must be copied and attached to the I-9. They are to be signed by the business owner or designated employee. This is an exercise in futility

Dear Friend, I am proud to report that our latest efforts to stop the Amnesty Caucus have been successful! Senator Reid removed Dianne Feinstein's amnesty amendment from the war funding bill before it even reached the Senate floor. Thank you for rallying to my call for support. In addition to the thousands of concerned Americans who co-signed the letter to Senator Reid, many of my colleagues and conservative groups nationwide sprang to action with similar efforts. ;D I know Democrat leaders like Harry Reid hate it when we organize to defeat the amnesty agenda. That's why Reid and his friends are working every day to make sure I'm not reelected this year. Every day their liberal allies are fundraising to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars in TV ads to attack me. Ever since I first ran for office, I've counted on grassroots supporters to fund my campaigns. It's why I'm not afraid to take conservative positions in the U.S. Senate, even when I know the Democrats will be investing heavily to defeat me. Jim Inhofe

Not only is illegal immigration destroying the American, legal immigration numbers have been WAY TOO HIGH for years... We used to get the best people coming here, now it is mostly trash from other nations atracted by the FREE RIDE. Action Alert! Ask your Senators to eliminate chain migration for a better future This new fax has been posted in your Action Buffet based on your answers to the Interest Survey. You can find this fax by proceeding to www.numbersusa.com/faxes?ID=10458If we are to have any hope of avoiding the U.S. Census Bureau's latest population projection of over 439 million people by 2050, the Senate must introduce a version of Rep. Gingrey's Nuclear Family Priority Act, H.R. 938. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's latest report, the U.S. population will grow by yet another 135 million people over the next 42 years, bringing us to a total population of 439 million people, with no end to the congestion and sprawl in sight. More than four-fifths of the additional 135 million people will be a result of Congress' immigration policies. Click here to read Roy's blog. If you are concerned that unchecked population growth will threaten nearly every aspect of life in the U.S., you will want to consider sending this fax asking your Senator to introduce a Senate version of H.R. 938, the Nuclear Family Priority Act. Among the key provisions of H.R. 938, introduced by Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA), are: -Elimination of chain migration; -Expedited reunification of nuclear families (i.e., married couples and parents with their young children); and -Workload relief that overwhelms the immigration system and undermines homeland security. Chain migration is the No. 1 cause of legal immigration numbers of approximately one million a year – FOUR TIMES traditional levels. Under chain migration (created in the late 1950s), distant relatives well outside an immigrant’s basic family unit take priority over the husbands, wives, parents, and minor children of other immigrants. Moreover, since hundreds of millions of people in the world already have a relative in the U.S., the migration chain can eventually reach them all. The U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, led by the late Rep. Barbara Jordan (D-Texas), recommended the elimination of chain migration as the best way to protect vulnerable American workers and their families. H.R. 938 would do just that.
