I didn't even realize that I had a message when I went to log in. Apparently from 2/17/08 someone called justsouno sent me a message that I needed to respect oters opinions and that when he looked at my birthdate in my profile (I am 57) he said that it just goes to show that some people never grow up. How awful! I don't believe I have ever not respected anyone else's opinions. I am sorry if I have ever given that impression. I am thinking that maybe it was goldeneagles turned blueangles. That was the only person I disagreed with as alot of us did. Sorry if I have offended anyone. Hey, take it from me, Not Invisible Anymore Guy, I know offensive trolls when I smell 'em. Rinohunter is right. They try to put a burr under your saddle, draw you out, and conduct a pointless arguement with you. I don't know that I ever heard of justsouno. We must have been ignoring him. My thoughts on Fred and the Covention: I've been standing on a hillside in the night, and I've been singin about the good things, and the light, there's a new star on the horizon, and it nearly fills the sky, thank you Lord you made it right, you made it right. There's a new star on the horizon and it nearly fills the sky, thank you Lord you made it right, you made it right! Anyone know what song that is?

Melissa- I heard that terrible story and that it was an illegal 22 year old that ran a stop sign. I didn't hear that it wasn't the first offense. I can hardly talk about the meat recall story in Calif. as I am such an animal lover and I couldn't watch the story about the pen manager. He was Mexican, legal or otherwise, what a low life. It seems that some of the most horrifying crimes are being committed by a people that don't seem to understand that there are laws in "our" country. I guess they have just gotten away with so much for so long!

hi jchildress~ Thanks for posting the article about the border fence.....just finished reading it. The main concern I would have with such a system is that it might end up only halting those individuals who appear to be "smuggling." I don't doubt for a second that the liberals would allow everyone who doesn't appear to be a criminal, and many that do, pass right on through. To me, this just isn't good enough!!! I think only a real, physical fence will stop all of the illegals from coming into America. I especially got a chuckle over the cattle mentioned in the article. My dad is a rancher in Texas, up around the Austin area, and he would never allow a cow to go "missing" (if you keep the fences in good repair the cows won't escape and they wouldn't wander over to another area. Anyway....they are not like dogs that get out and run wild.....they are cows!) So, to me that sorta sounds crazy!! I can just see it now, cows running back and forth over the national border trying to decide what nationality they want to claim! ;D I know it happens, but my point is it wouldn't if people would be responsible for their own property!. I am a true conservative. I do not feel that the government should claim "imminent domain" (sp*) unless it is absolutely necessary for the good of the country. This is for our national security and it trumps everything else....and I am sorry to say that includes the rights of the individual land owners affected in order to build the fence. I would love to hear other opinions or thoughts on how we can secure our borders without using the land of private land owners...to find a solution would be wonderful...so far, I have been unable to come up with one on my own. Many of you might disagree with me, but I feel so strongly that the fence is our only chance to really close our borders and keep America safe! ~sheryl

Sounds good but this only identifies that there is someone crossing, the border guards will then have to catch them. Will we let the border guards do their job or will we arrest and prosecute the guards for doing their job! Border guards shoot a criminal while illegally entering our country with drugs to sell to our children, and the border guards not the criminal are sent to jail. This certainly does not encourage Border Guards to do their job to stop these people.

I must wonder why the BBC (British Broadcasting) is the one responsible for this article. They quote Chertoff. Why hasn't any Ameican journalist picked up on this? What bothers me about the whole article is they appear to be concentrating on the smuggling crossers. What about those that are coming here to take our jobs? The towers covering up to 10 miles with the cameras and radar mean that instead of the actual physical fence, the property owners will have towers and surveillance equipment doting their land. The part about the cattle crossing was just too much. I did read in the past that a physical fence would harm the wildlife that would be denied access to water or food. I give the animals more credit than I do the people writing that crap. Animals are smart enough to migrate to areas where there needs are met. Control the immigration (legal and illegal) and our people and animals will have enough land to provide for our own food and water.
