Stop the 5-year amnesty plan!

Hey Everyone,
THEY'RE BACK!!!!!!!!! Congress is trying to SNEAK what they are calling a "5-YEAR AMNESTY PLAN" into law!!!! This AMNESTY will allow ANY ILLEGAL ALIEN living in the U.S. to prove they have a job, pay a fine, and pass a background check, TO RECEIVE THE GIFT OF LEGAL STATUS FOR 5 YEARS!!!!!!!!
Democrat Congressman Rahm Emanuel stated that he "Doesn't believe they will be able to get the FULL-SCALE Amnesty passed UNTIL THE 2ND TERM OF THE NEXT PRESIDENT" He continued, "The hope is they can pass this 5-YEAR VISA FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS, and then, when they're ABLE TO, they can GET THE FULL SCALE AMNESTY".

The good news here is that the Heath Shuler's more responsible and sensible SAVE Act has some good momentum, and this amnesty bill may not ever make it to the floor. That's what we have to make sure of, though!

Please contact at least YOUR congressman and senators and let them know this 5-year amnesty plan is unacceptable. They have to know that we're paying attention to them, and that a vote for this bill sentences them to tireless work against their re-election by this and other conservative groups concerned about the future of our country!

NumbersUSA, who Melissa mentioned earlier, has more information. They also have report cards for every congressman and senator, so when you write to your, you can let him/her know you've been paying attention. I recommend either thanking them for past votes or expressing your disappointment.

I thought we had found a new word......pileoking . Sorry about your rotator cuff, my husband has had his repaired. He was in quite a bit of pain..so my sympathy is with you.
Here is pretty much the letter I sent to My congressmen:

Dear Mr Corker,
I appreciate all that you are doing to keep our country going in the right direction.
However, I am very concerned about the 5 year amnesty bill that will be coming up for vote shortly. I STRONGLY urge you to vote against this bill for the safety of our country.

They have put enough limits in this bill to make it sound good. But the entitlements are the least of it. What about the children born into this plan. Say: the parents have 2 more while here and the teenage kids they brought with them have 1 each,that's 4 new U.S. citizens. Say their are not given citizenship for whatever reason after 5 years,What then?? Do you think anyone would deport 4 minor U.S. citizens??Look I'm just saying this is a dangerous bill,it could open a number of possibilities. I wrote my Senators this morning. For all the good it will do.Bayh is a Democrat.He's not so bad,he's the flip-side of McCain for the Democrats.

You make great points Maggie. Be sure to also send notes to some of our heros in the fight against amnesty such as Jim Inhofe of OK and Gordon Smith of OR. As a matter of fact, I have the list of U.S. Senators that fought against the McCain-Kennedy amnesty. There are a few Democrats on there that should be thanked as well since they do tend to be more conservative Dems. I will have to post them later after I get home.

I called and left a message with my congress man and senator today, I am also glad to say that I was able to educate several people on Fred Thompson and we all wrote him in in the Alaska primary. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and being a part of something that can from what I see can make a difference. This is the first year I really have been involved in the political arena and I am addicted.... I had no idea there was so much that was wrong with our country or how the media was so biased! Anyhow ready and willing to help
out in any way I can.
