I'll say I'm not surprised. Everyone knew that the media was going to build up McCain and then start tearing him down after he basically had the nomination. I was reading on a blog I frequent today McCain is getting the treatment he's given conservatives for a long time.

In case anyone wasn't aware right around 2700 Wisconsinites didn't compromise their principles yesterday and voted for Fred.
And in a bit of a surprise to many political types Huckabee took 6 delegates in WI, winning two "rural" Congressional Districts.
To me that means the key is getting out the vote in the rural areas of TX. Huckabee could pull out a win there and must be in serious contention, why else would Gov. Perry be calling for Huckabee to drop out?

There are at least 2400 smart people in Wisconsin. I am in Texas, and will be proudly voting for Fred. We will see how many smart people there are here? One thing that I have found is that the folks who like Thompson have more sense than anyone else!!! I am not kidding or exaggerating.

Hi voyager5, I will be voting in Texas for Fred too. Just ordered my "Don't Blame Me, I voted for Fred" bumper sticker. Can't wait to put it on. So, 3 votes from this Texas family.

Good morning all. Although things look bleak at the moment we must continue to "stand strong" in this "battle for the heart and soul of the Republican party." I think we need to fight on all fronts. Fight for a brokered but at the same time push for a primetime convention speech, push for Fred to have a role in a <gulp> McAmnesty administration. At the same time we need to remember this will be a long battle so we have to look ahead as well to the next midterms and 2012. We need to continue standing strong. On another note I think we are all in agreement that unlike Mr. EmptySuit's wife and many on the far left we are PROUD to be AMERICANS. So for inspiration I bring you this: brvanlanen.wordpress.com/2008/02/21/proud-to-be-an-american/

Melissa M on another post had talked about her conversation with a Marine, it was a great story. There is something else you all can do if you want. At Christmas time I got in touch with "Adopt a Platoon". I was sent an address to mail christmas goodies to. It is very inexpensive to send even big boxes of stuff to as it is going to our military. We sent everything from candy, snacks, socks, hats and word find books etc. to the address we were given. My husband and I got a thank you card from the platoon that they handmade with everyone's signature on it. It was from the "Essayons". While I didn't expect any thank yous, that card in now a framed piece of art in my home office that I see everyday. My heart was swelled. We are getting ready to send another care package. We will send it to "our" platoon. If they are not there any longer and have moved, it will go to the chaplain to be disbursed to others. They really do appreciate every little thing you send, it is a great morale booster, and they know someone is thinking of them and THANKING THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE. They particularly like Chocolate!

"There are at least 2400 smart people in Wisconsin"
And we had over 45,000 in California...I had plenty of supporters perplexed while I played patriotic songs on my trombone on the street entrance to Reagan Library and Kodak Theater debate venues before Super Tuesday, with a fair amount of reporters noting and cameras rolling as I explained that there were folks planning to vote, since Fred was still on the ballot and could garner delegates.
Especially since the "endorsement" has not been backed up by any real provinence by Fred that I've seen, let's continue to grow that blip on the msm radar.
They may have McCain in their sights now, which is to be expected. Let's hope that as we build a coalition based on integrity and principles, that Fred is stealthily watching.

That's supporters of other candidates...all the Republicans with respectful feedback regarding their impression of Fred, and many with regret that he hadn't done better.
And even polite applause from almost all of the Democrats and performance art peaceniks for the music (even though it took focus away from their chants and bullhorns)

There will be a lot of votes for Fred in Texas. I and my wife have already voted for Fred, the number 7 & 8th votes cast in our precinct.
I also have gotten March 4th off so that I can stand outside of City Hall with my Fred Thompson banner and I have a Duncan supporter and Romney supporter that will be there with me to encourage people to vote for their choice not what's leftover on the plate.
Real Conservative don't Vote RINO!!!
