McCain’s claims of wanting to nominate ”conservative” Supreme Court judges ring hollow when one considers the fact that McCain worked closely with Democrats (the “Gang of 14”) to block confirming conservative, strict constructionist judges.

A man like John McCain who publicly praises Islam and publicly says he could vote for a Muslim US President, would help arm Muslim terrorists and take their campaign dollars because he already has.

I don't want you to feel so sad. I'm sure many of us feel what you feel. I do. But, somehow, I hope you can find comfort in the fact that there are others who see what you see, and want what you want.
Pertaining to your statement about not feeling safe with the choices that we are left with, I understand. But, somehow, we need to find the strength within ourselves to make it what we want. If we surrender to this despair, we won't be able to do what needs to be done. Talk to everyone you know. Tell them why they need to be afraid. Call your Representatives, tell them how you feel. THEY work for you!!!!

2) You know that there are many people on this board, including me, who will be supporting Senator McCain. To this point, there has been respectful disagreement.

3) Casting aspersions on the Senator's military record is the kind of thing the other party does, not this one.

In fact, the information provided here is correct, and will become common knowledge in the coming months, and will be used by MSM against McCain. It is clear to me that McCain does not stand a chance, unless liberals decide he is their man. I will be writing in Fred Thompson, myself. McCain is only at this point the "presumptive" nominee, and I feel that is important to remember. Though some may decide to support him, we all found each other because of Fred Thompson, and this site is still named Fred Thompson News, and the news is Fred Thompson does not support John McCain. John McCain is not a conservative. Is this site to become the John McCain News Site?

I know some of you guys don't want to admit it, but Fred did tell us it was time to unite behind John McCain. I'm afraid you're setting yourselves up for a big disappointment when Fred starts campaigning for McCain, which I guarantee will happen in the summer or fall.

You guys know I respect you, and though I disagree with your decision to write-in Fred, I respect that you have thought this through and that you are voting your conscience because you love your country. Not to beat a dead horse, but I am also voting my conscience-- I can't stand by and let Obama or Hillary be elected.

There is much we agree on, and it is my hope that we can focus on that rather than arguably slandering the Republican nominee.

Well said rinoHUNTER! The only way I will consider a vote for McCain is if Fred runs as his VP. Which I doubt will happen. I also do not see Fred campaigning for McCain unless of course he runs as his VP.

They are miles apart on the issues. They can be friends without having to publicly support each other. That's the nice thing about true friends...you don't always have to agree with them!

Actually, the article I posted above was not written by a left-winger; it was written by a Conservative.

The purpose for posting such a thing, is to show two things. One is that there is much more to John McCain than what is being let on. Second, this is only the tip of the iceberg that is coming to come out on McCain in the general election.

Clinton and Obama have an interesting, yet typical, left-wing strategy. It's a bate and switch game. If they make their primary about "gender" and "race" they keep everyone away from "the issues". By throwing out these smoke screens they keep the electorate from looking at their real records and credentials - or lack thereof. Keep everyone's minds on gender and race and keep them off of illegal alien amnesty, national health care disaster ...

But when the general election begins, the things posted at the beginning of this thread, and tons more information about the real John McCain, are going to hit the fan.

Acting like the three monkies - hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil - will not make the reality and truth about John McCain go away. It will not make John McCain more palatable. It will not get John McCain elected.

What it will be is an absolute disaster and thrashing of the Republican Party. Why? Because it isn't just going to affect John McCain. It is going to effect every Congressional and Senatorial Candidate running as a Republican. There is a lot to be said about "name Recognition". The Democrats have done this before and they will do it again. It starts out, "The Republicans are hypocrits (they put them all in one basket). Take John McCain for example..." And every nasty little secret John McCain thinks he has kept secret will be exposed. In this type of attack the Democrats have effectively painted all Republicans with John McCain's sins. A McCain nomination will bring down the Republican Party.

Conservatives had better start thinking long and hard about a candidate that will stand on principles and the record; not a candidate "that can beat the Democrats" - that is how Republicans have lost in the past and it is how they will lose in this election.

In summary, it's not just about John McCain. It's about how McCain's lies, deceptions, arrogance and dirty secrets will skew the election against every person running as a Republican. It is time to see the larger picture. John McCain is poison to the Republican Party.

With all due respect Brad. I don't care who Fred is supporting at this point. Fred is doing his duty as a good party member by endorsing the presumptive nominee in the event that he wants to run for President after McCain get his sorry liberal lite behind handed to him by the real liberals he's running against.

Let's use the Mississippi Democrat Primary Tuesday as an example. On the one hand you have the white wife of "The First Black President(a white dude that has soul baby)" running, and on the other you have a black man(white mom, black dad but yanno 50% is better than nothing)...and what did you see in Mississippi. You saw a white woman trying to run as if she were a soul sister, and had been credited with being such up until the time came for there to be a vote between her pasty face and one of color. And who did they vote for? The brother. I'm not casting dispersions here, and this isn't a racial rant. Please don't read it that way. What I'm trying to say is why vote for psuedo something when you can vote for the real something? As was displayed by the Democrat Primary in Mississippi.

McCain is a psuedo-liberal. Why would the libs vote for him when they can vote for the whole hog with the other two.

And if you don't think that the likes of Hillary Clinton or the upper echelons of the Democrat party do not have their own "Swiftboat" Vets in the wings waiting to trounce McCain when the time is right, you are extremely naive. It's coming. And, how exactly do we differentiate our guy's principles when the one he's running against supported legislation that he authored? HOW?!?!

I'm done being a party faithful guy. The party faithful mentality has lead us to where we are today. Oh get behind our guy. He's at least better than the other side. BS. Our guy now is no different than the other side. Zero difference. Wants to get the kyoto protocol or something like it ratified. Wants to enact energy taxes practices that matches the plans of both Clinton and Obama. Why not vote for the other side? Show me where anything that I have said is in error and I'll apologize?

Please do not run out the "But the Supreme Court...blah blah blah." McCain will not put strict originalist judges on the bench. He already claimed that he didn't like Sam Alito wearing his conservatism on his sleeve. You think he's gonna pick a guy like Scalia or Thomas. PFFFSHAH....wake up.

Well put Krell! This is exactly how we have ended up where we are today. We have been the "party" faithful since Bush Sr. and all it has gotten us is sliding further and further to the left! The GOP has told us to get behind the nominee and they will make it up to us the next election cycle. Well they never do because they have been corrupted by the same dollars that corrupt the other side!!

Even if McCain gives Fred the nod for VP and Fred accepts, my vote is not guaranteed. As much as it hurts me to say this, if Fred were to get the nod and accept, it may change they way I think about the "Consistent Conservative". If his values are what he says they are he sees his friend McCain, politically, for who he really is and he doesn't become a part of it. And please stop telling me that Fred endorsed McCain. There was no valid proof to that "rumor". There was only 1 "source" for that article. An endorsement from Fred would have gotten much more attention than that.

As I have said before, just because you are someone's friend does not mean you have to support their every move. This applies in life just as much as it does in politics!!

On a paper checklist McCain would appear to be the lesser of three evils. But if you look at how they would govern a McCain presidency would be just as disastrous for the country as Obama or Hillary. Amnesty for 12-20 million illegal immigrants and hijacking the economy using the excuse of "man-made" global warming alone will take us just as close to socialism as Obama or Hillary.
