CONSERVATIVES SHOULDN'T CHOOSE BETWEEN TWEEDLE-BAD AND TWEEDLE-AWFUL GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary By Don Feder www.grasstopsusa.com/df012808.htmlMcCain has a penchant for partnering with the far left. He feels more comfortable with members of the liberal Comintern than he does with the conservative movement or his Republican colleagues. (McCain was the only candidate for the GOP nomination to boycott last year's Conservative Political Action Conference.) On the most momentous question confronting this nation (whether we will defend our borders or allow an alien invasion to redefine our identity), McCain is on the side of the ACLU, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Council of La Raza and his good bud Ted Kennedy. He is Senor Amnesty, co-author of the bill that would have "regularized the status" of millions of illegal aliens, and sent millions currently south of the border heading north. He also opposed an Arizona English initiative. (We wouldn't want border-jumpers to feel uncomfortable by officially designating America an English-speaking nation.) Over the years, McCain has also opposed English-only ballots and supported bi-lingual education. Can I get an ole? For all of his vaunted candor, the Arizonan has had one of those election-year epiphanies. He now says he supports border security -- reflected in his rousing declaration, "I'll build the G-d-d**ned fence, if they want it." Now, isn't that reassuring?

Krell, What an excellent article. I had forgotten about McCain voting against making English our official language. I hadn't heard about the all English ballots. Another great point was that a RINO president will appoint Constructionist in name only judges. I am interest to know which Republican candidate you viewed as the unifying choice of the majority?

Hello Loriel - I believe that Fred Thompson was the only candidate that hit on all Conservative and Federalist Principles in this primary. My second choice was Duncan Hunter. It is interesting to note that Fred Thompson was the # 1 second choice, among all candidates, if the voter's first choice dropped out. Fred Received somewhere near 83% as the second choice. If Fred Thompson were to be nominated as McCain's V.P., I still would not vote for McCain. A vote for John McCain is a vote for every nasty anti-American piece of legislation he has written and/or voted for. John McCain does not belong in the Republican Party. For me, and many others, the trick of McCain choosing a Conservative running mate [glow=red,2,300]does not[/glow] make him more palatable. I have worked in candidate campaigns before. But this is the first time I have actively campaigned against a candidate. Okay, I guess that's more than you asked for

Krell - Great comments! I will follow you to defeat McCain at all costs. He will do more than the Dem's to destroy Repubilcan party and promote the Rinos, i.e., the end of the Republican Party, though that's maybe what the Party needs so we can start a Conservative Party!
No, don't hold your nose; don't vote for McCain! Vote for all conservative house and senate races. Write in Fred.

I'm sad because we all would love to see Fred take the reins of the Presidency, but most of the conservatives aren't willing to fight against the GOP establishment at this point and take on McCain. Those that are still willing to lead a fight aren't mobilized enough yet to do something. I think that phone calls would make more difference to the GOP than emails, because then the GOP realizes that complaints are coming from people!

I have written more letters and emails than I care to recall, to conservative radio shows, conservative organizations, the Republican Party, etc.. I never have gotten ONE response saying, "Yes, we will fight with you to stop John McCain." Even if they haven't been brainwashed into thinking we'll be okay under McCain, they have been brainwashed into believing it won't make a difference. It's time for people to rise above their timidity. Is there any way to stir them up more than I'm doing?

It is not our moral duty to stop McCain! It is our moral duty to make our local Rep.s accountable for giving power to the POTUS! Obama or McCain(no name calling anymore the primaries are over). It's time to get to hitting Congress and hitting them hard! Congress is our only voice in Washington, hold their feet to the fire!

We MUST do both. McDimocrap is doing one fine job of making sure he is NEVER POTUS, so let's help him. Meanwhile, and all the while let's CHALLENGE THE PEOPLE ALREADY IN OFFICE to get it together, or be DUMPED! It can happen, you know, and I think it will. Relentless... I am.

Like it or not, unless some drastic happen of circumstances, POTUS is going to be an (a) or (b) choice! A 3rd candidate is only going to pull votes PERIOD! Third party needs to be stirring the pudding way before primaries are over so they are irrelevant at this point. The only real "hope" we have is Congress-that is the only place our voices are heard in Washington!!!!

Stop sitting on your b u t t s and hoping for something to change that you know deep down never will. Just 17% Say Federal Government Represents Will of the People Just 17% of voters say that the federal government represents the will of the American people. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 68% disagree and 15% are not sure These views are consistent across partisan and demographic lines. Men, women, young, old, Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal, all offer a bleak assessment of what is supposed to be a “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Sixty-seven percent (67%) of voters say that the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interest. Just 15% disagree with that assessment. www.rasmussenreports.com/public_c....l_of_the_peopleNo pie-in-the-sky stay with the Republican party with lack of statistical substantiation. We the people are fed up with Democrats and Republicans alike. The move is on folks: Voters Ready For Baldwin

Obama in the last fews days made many mistakes and is sure not presidential material. If he can't read it he can't say it!
