June 17 - I will need to remember that date from now on!
Happy Birthday, Israel is a good way to put it! I normally haven't thought of independence days as birthdays, but it sure makes it sound more vivacious!

From Congressional Candidate Lou Barletta:
Too many of our current leaders are so bogged down by re-election that they're not paying attention to what you care about -- the economy, health care, energy and illegal immigration.
I'm hoping for an opportunity to do better.
We have a choice -- right now -- to send new leadership to Washington. My campaign has put together a video that we'd like to put on television, so that it can reach as many voters as possible.
In order to do that, may I please ask for a contribution of $250, $100, $75, $50, or even $25? I'd hate to see the same old leadership in Washington because they have the same old big donors.
Why am I encouraged by a new poll that shows me leading incumbent Representative Paul Kanjorski? Because it shows that people have been paying attention and want change. They understand that we won't change Washington by sending the same people back to sit in the same chairs.
Only 39% say Kanjorski should be re-elected, but he plans to spend millions to change your mind. He'll surely use his money to run countless television ads in an effort to keep me quiet.
Well, I refuse to remain quiet because I care too much about the future of the 11th congressional district of Pennsylvania. Please watch my new ad and help contribute to put this on the air.
If you agree to it, I will feature your name on LouBarletta.com as a sponsor of the campaign to bring courage and leadership to Washington.
Thank you so very much,
Lou
P.S. This campaign is not about Republican or Democrat; it's about bringing much-needed change to Washington. I don't have the cash my opponent has, but I have the courage he's lacking. With your help, we can take back our district and our country. Thanks again.

I will keep this message brief. The MRC Action Team has only a few days to motivate House leadership to bring the Broadcaster Freedom Act out of committee and to the floor for a vote by July 4th, Radio Independence Day. The bill would permanently end the censorship threat of the "Fairness Doctrine." We're calling for Congress to allow this bill to come to the floor for an up or down vote, and to go on the record with their position on the Fairness Doctrine. Already our national petition calling for Radio Independence through this legislation has rallied 43,169 conservative citizens to take action. That's why I'm writing. We need your help to push our petition totals past the 100,000 mark before our delivery to key leaders in the House. ++ Action Item--Alert your friends Forward this message to 30-40 friends and family, urging them to take IMMEDIATE ACTION by clicking below and signing our petition: www.mrcaction.org/r.asp?u=8424&PID=16877271

Well, this is an interesting one. I'd heard Northop Grumman was suspending their hiring boom of engineers in SoCal. I almost took a gig at that site in a while back , which would have been sentimantal to the son of a Grumman engineer...not that Northup is all that popular after buying them out. And my Uncle got rich inventing one of the early parts for in-flight refueling, though I'm not sure if thats still used on the KC-135's...gotta check to get their opinons, but you got me intrigued. First, I'm seeing that folks in Alabama are losing jobs too, where the L.A. based Northrop Grumman (latest merging from several American aviation pioneers) was going to assemble their plane based on the A330 from EADS (A Dutch conglomerate of French, German, and Spanish) If Boeing bids better to more of the Air Force's futureproofed criteria that they didn't know were a factor, then the job's would benefit Senator Patty Morray's Washington State and Congressman Tiahrt 's Kansas. So is this about losing American jobs or just Congressmen outporking each other. Don't want to plagarize without citaion, so here's a couple of snippets from: Northrop Grumman's site: "The KC-45 Tanker aircraft will be assembled in Mobile, Ala. - establishing Mobile as the new cornerstone of the Southern Aerospace Corridor. The program will employ 48,000 American workers at 230 U.S. companies in 49 states; and will be built by a world-class industrial team led by Northrop Grumman, and includes EADS North America, General Electric Aviation and Sargent Fletcher. " And another article with extended discussion: www.dailytech.com/"The main structures for the aircraft including the body and wings will be manufactured in Europe by Airbus. Final assembly and militarization of the aircraft will be undertaken by Northrop Grumman in Mobile, Alabama." Okay, Boeing user little parts from Canada and Japan is more patriotic from Northrop Grumman using big parts from Dutch (not French) EADS? And the better plane? "Air Force Gen. Arthur Lichte simply said that the larger, modified A330 provided by Airbus offered "more passengers, more cargo, more fuel to offload, more patients that we can carry, more availability, more flexibility and more dependability." Well, despite the delay in getting the best possible plane into our pilot's hands, sound like it's best this all goes back to the drawing boards, but here's the punchline. "Republican John McCain is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and it was McCain's investigation in 2003 of corruption in a tanker contract between Boeing and the Air Force that effectively scuttled that deal and opened the door for a bid by Northrop and EADS. "

Krell-Signed petition this morning, conservative talk radio generates a lot of grieve for the 545. You are so right my friend. It is CENSORSHIP by the government. Didn't Stalin and Hitler do similar things? Our Congress wants to silence everyone that disagrees with them. Add this to Bush's and Congress' domestic spying, Bush's violation of court trials for crimminals, etc, etc, etc, it all adds up to communism.

The night before last a Silverton Police officer shot and killed an illegal alien who was committing a burglary. Oh, you know it. Of course all the left-wing morons are spewing their ignorance in the newspaper. You will really like (sarcastic) the way the left-wing newspaper writes the headline? Typical. The perp was in this country illegally and he was committing a crime at the time he was shot. Of course, I had throw my two cents into the fray. This illegal alien, by the way, was here illegally from Ireland. Burglary call ends with fatal shooting Silverton officer kills Irish citizen who overstayed visa; circumstances remain vague www.statesmanjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080702/NEWS/807020441&s=d&page=1#pluckcomments
