Everyone, fight McCain. Huck is far enough behind now he can just get us a brokered convention. Let everyone in the next two primary dates know every bad thing there is to know about him and urge real Republicans to get out and vote! Call talk shows, post in their newspapers and do anything to get the message out about the true McCain. Tell them not to let Independents and RINOs decide who will be our candidate.
Here is this Saturday's states: Kansas Caucus 39 delegates Louisiana Primary 47 delegates Washington Caucus 40 delegates
Here is next Tuesdays states: District of Columbia Primary 19 delegates Maryland Primary 37 delegates Virginia Primary 63 delegates

Here is part of my post on McCain: One of the simplest things we can do to help the economy is to get the illegals to go home. Each week they take jobs that our citizens can have. Each week they send at least half of that paycheck back to Mexico. The congress wants to give everyone a few hundred bucks to spend to stimilate the economy. Enforcing laws to eliminate jobs for the illegals will do that every week not just once! It will also bring down the cost of health care that they are running up be not having insurance and going to the emergency rooms for their health care. It will improve our schools by easing over crowding. John McCain says these laws are outdated and need to be replaced. He says he wants to secure the borders but let the 12 to 20 million illegals here stay here! A vote for McCain is a vote against the economy and a vote for the liberals! Look at the states he carried on Tuesday. Most of them were states that will vote Democrat in the election. So a vote for McCain now insures a Deomcratic victory in the fall. Get out and vote. Do not give our nation away!

It's anybody's guess what might be going through Fred's head, but you're right in pointing out how his daughter's passing may have influenced his decision to run again for Senate. And he very gently referred to the difficult considerations during that time while she was apparently on life support, for which he suggested than more detail would not be forthcoming on such a very privated matter.
I think there's a number of factors which added up to his withdrawal, but I also feel that it was always his intention, of nothing else, to present a template of Conservatism. To provide an updated context of how those Principles apply to the common world.
Goldwater ran, and while unseccessful in gaining the presidency, nonetheless made a philosophical impact, and continued his work in the Senate even while Reagan led to a broader coalition by bringing in the Religious Right. I hope Fred comes back into the picture soon, but in the meantime, Stand Strong doen's meen Stand and Wait!

Romney just suspended his campaign.....while Conservatism is not dead, I do feel perhaps the current Republican party is, they have failed, we, the people.

Conservative principles may be getting lost in patriotism. After 911 flags,R W B ribbons an banners were everywhere.Bumper stickers with heartfelt phrases of emotion and support ,songs from famous artists,movies, and even our weekly series like Law & Order and others had references or story lines and still do. When we deliver a conservative message in relation to the political campaigns, that have been going on for 2 years, it seems people turn a deaf ear or are politly interested. Re: Fred Thompson just rambled on and on with no message to his campaign( I read alot of commenta on line). This is why I think many regular good folks just tuned him out. They were waiting for some bellowing and arm waving .Maybe some anger and some rousing cheer. In the Myrtle Beach debate every headline read: Fred was on fire-Had fire in his belly- -and so forth. this primary had nothing to do with issues. Not really

This is another contact site for the Republican Study Committee, which is supposed to be a caucus of conservatives. www.house.gov/hensarling/rsc/contact_hensarling.shtmlI emailed them to tell them how dissapointed I am in their 8 point platform for conservative republicans. They say not a word in the 8 points about the illegal immigration issue. In an article on this site they want Congress to consider some immigrants having a temporary status based on their education and benefit to the US. I am sorry, we need to back off immigration in any form until we can insure no illegals and NO Amnesty.

Perhaps in ways Reagan was. Is the Republican Party redeemable when all of its leaders will prostitute themselves by supporting McCain? Of course, most of this arguing here tonight accomplishes nothing. I think, regardless of whether Fred is a genuine person or not, we need to remember what we believe in and press onward. There's the Nicea Creed affirming orthodox Christian doctrines. We have our "patriots' creed" as well. And we all agree on fundamentals. Let's forget our hopes of seeing Fred Thompson stand up against McCain, and let us remember the words of Ron Paul, who said that it is about grassroots effort instead of a single election. RinoHUNTER has said that all along, and I think I'm finally fully grasping it.
